I am diagnosed of having soft tissue sarcoma (CANCER) in my right chest brachial plexus and I was asked to sacrifice my right lymph If I want to live. This sounded funny for me when Oncology Surgeon said to me after looking at my MRI SCAN report I didn't understand how to react to the situation. I asked him what does sacrifice means? He said I may not be using right hand for ever as tumor infiltrated to all major nerves which needs removed. Next I been to
1)INDO AMERICAN CANCER HOSPITAL and met doctor VAMSI
2)APOLLO HOSPITAL==> Dr.Bhandari + Dr.Alok Ranjan
3) YASHODA
4) NIIMS
5) Dr.BALA PARAMESH ==> Neuro Surgeon
6) STAR Hospitals ==> Bangaru Raju (Cardiologist)
7) Siva Rama Krishna, Guntur ==> Oncology
After going around these many hospitals and doctors I was suggested to go TATA MEMORIAL CANCER CENTER at mumbai. I took my wife and kid flew to mumbai immediately. Met with Sidhartha Kaskar (Radiologist) + M.G.Agarwal (Bone and Soft tissue surgeon) after going through the MRI SCAN and reports they said that it had to removed completely 100% for which I may loose some organs in my right hand and latter they will restore the right hand functionality to some extent with the help of Dr.Anil Bhatia (www.brachialplexussurgery.com) brachial plexus specialist and Dr.Patil Vascular Surgeon. I felt confident enough when the doctor said about 1) 100% removal of tumor 2) Restoration of hand by nerve grafting or nerve transplant. I am worried and asked whether my son can also get this tumor Dr said it wont come in kids only in adults for which I really felt happy. The pain I am going through is enormous as the tumor grown to a massive size and its pressing against the other organs like ribs, muscles, blood vessels and other nerves. Day by day I notice huge difference and loosing sensation in my right hand. I lost power in my muscle to such a extent that I am unable to hold a table spoon, mug or even pull the phant zip. Doctor said that he will operate but I need to wait for 6 weeks for that I was shocked and begged him that I am immense pain pls get me earlier date but doctor he is helpless as he need to fix appointments with other doctors also for hand restoration. Finally after going through his schedule he gave me July 15th operation date and asked to come and meet on 9th July to complete pre-operation formalities. He asked to go and meet Dr.Jain or Dr.Bhatia (pre-Operation Pain relief) who gave me some medicine but they are not of much impact on me. I didn't sleep for last one year my right hand became narrow compared to left every one is noticing it and asking what happened? Inorder to make decision between life and lymph I choose life. But luckily doctor assured me lymph will be restored 50% I may loose functionality of little finger and ring finger.
